d&m hair design announced as one of four Australasian
finalists for top industry award
At a glamorous cocktail function in Darling Harbour on Tuesday night, d&m hair design was announced as the only New Zealand finalist for the prestigious 2010 Schwarzkopf Professional Hair Expo Salon Team of the Year award. New Zealand previously held its own equivalent of these awards, the Schwarzkopf Professional New Zealand Hairdressing Awards, a biannual event that d&m have dominated. This year is the first year that New Zealanders have had to stand up not just against each other, but also the hyper-competitive Australian industry, in a joint competition.
d&m, currently the 2008/2009 Schwarzkopf Professional New Zealand Salon Team of the Year, are one of only four finalists for the Australasian-wide title. Danny Pato, co-owner and Creative Director of d&m, was overjoyed with the accolade. āIām proud that we have been recognised not just as the strongest salon team in the country, which is an honour, but also one of the very best Australasian wide,ā said Pato. As part of the entry process, the d&m Salon Team produced a collection of 6 photographs to showcase their work. These images were shot by leading international photographer, Craig Owen, in his fourth creative collaboration with the salon. Barry Betham styled the shoot, with makeup by Amy Fiebig. Hair was styled by Danny Pato and Michael Sisaengrath, with colour by Shannon Lee-Johnson.
