5 NZFW things we'll remember forever
Back in September, the salon team from d&m Hair Design worked with acclaimed shoe designer Kathryn Wilson on her debut New Zealand Fashion Week show. Danny and Michael share their 5 favourite memories.
1. Being inspired by the 90s
We had so much fun in our research phase, especially revisiting the Robert Palmer girls and Madonna on her Blond Ambition tour.

2. Bringing it to life
Getting technical and figuring out how to bring a vision into the physical reality of a catwalk show can be quite an arduous process. It took a while to get there, but eventually we managed to achieve the look using 2 stylists per model in less than 20 minutes.

3. Shooting the video
Garth Badger directed a superb behind-the-scenes video that connected seamlessly into the start of the actual show. Kath wowed everyone with the amazingness in which she pulled everything together.

4. Wrapping the salon
It took quite some coordination, but we managed to pull off completely wrapping our salon windows in beautiful shots of the show - overnight. It looked really impressive and was a unique extension of our collaboration.

5. The red shoes
Amongst the chaos of everything backstage, we were all stopped in our tracks when we saw what eventually became known as the shoe of the show. The fun and sexy red ankle boots embodied the creative vision of the show. At that moment we were reminded of Kath’s exceptional talent and spent the rest of the show with twinkles in our eyes.
